The village of Newick is in the Low Weald of East Sussex, on the A272 within easy reach of Uckfield, Haywards Heath and historic Lewes.
Steeped in history and predating the Doomsday Book, perhaps in the early days buried in the Ashdown Forest, the village architecture is distinctive with many of the older houses built of characteristic Sussex 'stocks' bricks.
Certainly, there was a church in Newick in the 11th Century; today there are three churches and three pubs, all historic buildings with their own story to tell. At the heart of the village, there is a Village Green with a pump built to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
